- If your A2000 motherboard has the Agnus chip socketed, you can go ahead
- and swap the 1MB Agnus for the 512k Agnus (which will allow you to access
- PAL mode). The only other thing you will have to do is make sure there is
- 1MB of Chip RAM on the motherboard and make whatever modifications (cutting
- of jumpers, et al) that may be needed to get the computer to acknowledge any
- added Chip RAM. You may want an authorized service person to do this for
- you. I couldn't like with a 512K Agnus... And in fact, have been lucky enough
- to have gotten a MegaChip2000 and have 2MB Chip RAM now. At least call a
- dealer or two and ask what needs to be done besides swapping the chips.
-
- Also, use a proper chip puller to remove the chip(s), or you risk damaging
- the chip and the socket. I bought one for $14.95 a while back when I was
- upgrading my system, but you can find them for as low as $8.99. Hope this
- helps.
